The Coolest Party on the Planet

64 floors above the Chao Praya river and bustling streets of Bangkok, Sirocco and Distil on top of the Lebua Tower give you a mind blowing, vertigo inducing experience, like no other bar or restaurant in the world.

Waist high glass screens are all that stand between you and a death drop of at least 700 feet. As fellow drinkers squeeze by, you are aware that a lack of balance will send your glass crashing to the distant street below. Leaning against the transparent barrier, phobias bombard your mind and terror strikes as you contemplate the unthinkable; that the glass screen barrier is flawed.

Quite simply, this would not be allowed in Europe or the US.

Sirocco is primarily a restaurant which promises excellent Mediterranean cuisine.   We didn't try dine there so can't comment, but the real experience is the bar, perched precariously, like an eagle's nest, on the edge of the tower.

Up one level is the ultra cool Distil bar. Distil has an indoor restaurant, but if you do plan to go for dining in the clouds, Sirocco would be the better option.  However, the outside Distil bar is the coolest this side of Bladerunner.

A small terrace, edged with 3 feet wide soft sofas, encourages you to kick your shoes off, curl up with a drink, and gaze across Bangkok; a master of the universe, surveying your kingdom, to ultra cool hypnotic grooves. 

The Lebua Hotel suites below are reasonably priced, very spacious and ideal for continuing your own private party.

And there's always the inimitable Bangkok nightlife, like no other this side of Babylon.

Forget Vertigo on the top of the Banyan Tree .  The world has moved on.  Bangkok has moved on.  In the eternal clamour for party cool, this is it.
