'no need to be wary about internal Indian flights now'
I remember a tale of an Air India flight arriving at Heathrow airport in the late 1980s. The crew was clearing tables as the plane thudded onto the runway, its burst tyres acting as additional brakes.
The tale may be exaggerated, but Indian air travel was certainly not a luxury option in the latter part of the last millennium.
Naresh Goyal has arguably driven a progression in Indian aviation, taking it to among the best in world, whilst other countries, particularly in the west, have regressed. This is particularly true of the US.
Publicly acknowledging Singapore Air as his role model, Mr Goyal has built a world class airline.
The addition to his fleet of the Indian domestic airline, Air Sahara, re-branded ‘Jet Lite’, now gives Goyal both a top domestic and international offering.
Jet Lite is basic but still provides food (not a meal), but this is more than the European budget airlines offer.
The international flights have First and Premiere (Business) class which seems to knock socks of most other airlines.
If you are planning to fly to India, check out Jet.
If you are considering domestic flights within India, both Jet and Kingfisher are very good options
